You can just turn up at a meeting, but we'd love you to let us know so we can look out for you.

Send us a message: hello@miranda-toastmasters.org.au

I'm a member of another Club, can I attend a meeting?

Of course! We love welcoming Toastmasters to our meetings.

Each Toastmasters club is slightly different and may run meetings differently. We think it's a great idea for Toastmasters to visit other clubs.

What happens at a meeting?

Most meetings follow a regular agenda.

The agenda has many meeting roles, or assignments, that members perform.

Members take on different roles each meeting to ensure the meetings run smoothly and to time.

Taking on different roles gives members the opportunity to learn new skills while practising public speaking.

We never throw new members into the proverbial 'deep end' with the meeting roles.

We allocate the smaller roles to new members and as they learn more and become more confident they take on the larger assignments.

And of course, there are plenty of experienced Toastmasters to offer support along the way.

Do I have to attend every meeting?

No, we’d love for you to attend every meeting, but we understand people have other things going on and might miss one.

Of course, the more meetings you go to, the more practice you get with public speaking, and the better you'll become!

What time to meetings start?

7:00pm start.

Please arrive by 6:50pm.

How long do meetings go for?

Meetings start at 7:00pm sharp and are usually finished by 9:30pm.

Toastmasters time everything, so we're sticklers for sticking to time.

We encourage everyone to arrive early and be seated and ready to go by 7:00pm

When are meetings?

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from February to November.

We have a break over the summer months of December and January due to Christmas and people taking holidays.

We do have our annual Christmast party on the 2nd Tuesday in December, but it's not a regular meeting. We get dressed up, have a meal, play games and have lots of fun.

Where are meetings held?

Miranda Toastmasters meets at Diggers RSL Miranda, 615 Kingsway.

Meetings are held upstairs in one of the meeting rooms.

Diggers is tremendously supportive of local clubs and it's also a great venue for a meal!

Some members meet for dinner before the meetings and everyone is welcome to join the group to eat, or even just to chat.

Is there parking nearby?

There is a multi-storey car park behind Diggers in Penprase Lane. It is ticketed, but free when ticket is validated at the bar when leaving.

There is an entrance to Diggers via Penprace Lane.

There is also limited street parking on the Kingsway.

How much does membership cost?

The membership fee for Miranda Toastmasters is $99, which you pay every six months. There’s also a one-time joining fee of $40. These fees go to Toastmasters International.

Fees need to be paid by 1 April and 1 October, and if you join partway through, you only pay for the months left in the period.
