Toastmasters provides members with many opportunities to practice public speaking and build leadership skills.

Whatever your goal is, Toastmasters can give you a fun and friendly space to practice prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, using visual aids, or running a meeting.

Build your confidence at your own pace in a safe and supportive environment. In addition, the Toastmasters Pathways education program can help accelerate your growth as a public speaker.

Meetings are held at Diggers Miranda RSL and visitors are always welcome.

Contests in 2025

Speech Contests are a great way to enhance your public speaking skills and they're a lot of fun.

Miranda Toastmasters Club conducts nine Speech Contests each year. Winners may go on to represent the club at Area, Division and District contests.

  • 25 March - Tall Tales & Master of the Toast contests
  • 22 April - Hartoonian Autumn Award - 10 Pathways speeches in one night
  • 27 May - Parliamentarian contest
  • 26 August - Humorous Speech & Table Topics contests
  • 23 September - Hartoonian Spring Award
  • 11 November - International Speech & Evaluation contests
  • Nov-Dec - Area 2 International Speech & Evaluation contests - date to be confirmed
